Banana Bites

I made something deliciously yummy and totally guilt-free last night that I just have to share. I came across some chocolate covered banana bites on pinterest  and it started a craving….a serious craving.  So I decided to make my own version with healthier ingredients and couldn’t be happier with the results.   Organic bananas, organic and raw crispy walnuts, and Cacao Bliss made into tasty little treats that make you feel like you’re getting a dessert.


Imagine my kids’ faces when I offered these treats up for breakfast this morning.  They were looking at me in disbelief and I could tell a couple of them were thinking I had fallen off my rocker. But when I sampled one for myself, they happily followed suit and dove in and ate them all up.


These are very easy to make and would be a fun and simple project for a child who is wanting to learn to do some independent food preparation.




Bananas, sliced about 1/2 inch thick

*Crispy walnuts or pecans, either whole pieces or chopped…whatever you prefer

Cacao Bliss

*Crispy nuts are raw nuts that have been soaked and dehydrated for best nutrient availibility.  Here is a tutorial along with a great explanation of why to prepare nuts in this way.



Melt Cacao Bliss in a double boiler.

Spoon enough on top of each banana piece to cover the top and drip down the sides a little.

Top with the crispy nuts.

Place in refrigerator until the Cacao Bliss hardens.
